KODI, MENARASUMBA.COM – The stretch of white sand along the coast of Kodi, Southwest Sumba Regency offers a clear, pristine panorama of the sea.
One of these charms lies on Maliti Beach, Ate Dalo Village, Kodi District, which is currently being decorated with the presence of a tourist resort.

The Arya Sumba Hotel, the name chosen as a tourist trade mark by the resort owner, is currently building a world-class tourist accommodation area.
And on Saturday (08/03/2025) morning a number of journalists visited to meet the invitation of husband and wife team Petr Hemerka and Hana Grygerova, owners of this newly built resort.
“We have just started, and the estimate is that starting in June we will be able to operate,” explained Hana Grygerova during a European-style breakfast that morning.
Currently, he said, only a few parts of the building have begun to be completed, such as the villa and restaurant.
“But the beach club and restaurant will be available, for example, for guests from outside our business colleagues who come to visit,” he also said.

Located in a beach area far from noise and a beautiful natural panorama of the seafront, this resort was built with an architectural design with a natural concept.
Bamboo and Alang are the two most prominent raw materials seen in almost every part of the building there.
“This bamboo was chosen because it is more environmentally friendly and has good aesthetics, the processing is also flexible,” explained Hamzanwadi, Architect Coordinator of Arya Sumba.
Another goal is to raise the prestige of local Indonesian materials, especially those not far from the resort area itself.
“Well, that’s why if you look here, in the beach club area, restaurant, lobby and seating area, the buildings use bamboo,” explained Hamzan.
“We use all bamboo from Sumba. The bamboo rooms are also part of the glam villa building,” he said further.
Other local materials used are various types of natural stone to beautify the buildings and grounds of the resort.

The completion period for a building, said Hamzan, really depends on its size. The arrangement of the restaurant area, for example, took almost 6 months and was carried out by skilled craftsmen and assisted by local workers from the local village.
“Meanwhile, the restaurant and beach club building took us 22 months to complete,” said Hamzan.
This resort development activity also received full support from a number of investors who were business colleagues of Petr Hemerka and Hana Grygerova.
Investors who are members of the Red College community often come to visit the Arya Sumba Resort location and sometimes stay overnight, even though this resort is not finished at all and is not operational.
Now, just counting the time, this resort area which is not far from the Cap Karoso Hotel, which has already been operating, will take its turn to become an attractive new destination on the edge of Maliti Beach, Ate Dalo Village.
The charm of tourism in Bumi Nyale will increasingly attract foreign travelers with the presence of Arya Sumba Resort. (JIP/MS)
